Reshape your notions regarding the word “Feminism”
Poet of the East “Sir. Muhammad Iqbal” writes in his poem “Aurat (Woman)” that,
“I too feel sad about the oppression of women,
But this knotty problem cannot be resolved.”
Iqbal is right in his poem about women that oppression they face is not just a simple issue, but this problem has been existing for many centuries and it cannot be resolved. Iqbal further says in his poem that,
“The spirit of man can display its self without obligation to another,
But the spirit of woman cannot fully reveal its self without another’s help”
According to Iqbal, men have got more strength, mindfulness and power than the women, and he alone can do wonders that women alone may not, but if men and women get along with each other, or she has got a man’s support, she can do even great and unimaginable wonders. Same thing’s with the men, as it is said, “Behind every great man there’s a great woman”.
We have the example of Mary and Pierre Curie, who together brought a revolution in the domain of Nuclear Physics in early 20th century. Similarly, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King, who together fought for the civil rights in America, and the list goes on …
FEMINISM :
The poor understanding of “Feminism” is misleading our society, .
The meaning of the word Feminism is “The advocacy of women’s right on the ground of the equality of the sexes” The belief that woman and man should have equal rights and opportunities, not a “Proud Slut”, and both men and women need to learn this.
Dear men, don’t call a woman “b*tch feminist”, if she has accused you of harassment or any act you haven’t done, because she is just using her gender power in a wrong way, not being a feminist.
Dear women, don’t call yourself a feminist if you are having affairs with many and cheating on men, and you are even proud of it, don’t call yourself a feminist if you do drugs and doing whatever wrongdoing you want. Everything has its domain, similarly “Feminism’ has its too.
We must use the feminist idea in a positive manner, if a girl’s brother is doing job, so she must urge for a job too. This is the biggest dilemma faced by women, we must uphold the rights of women working in corporate world, we must advocate for discrimination on the basis of gender. Instead of asking for extra rights, the women should ask for the protection of their exisiting rights. For example, if we talk about sports, cricket is not only for boys everybody loves it and it is the right of a woman to play cricket in the way men play. If a man can be a pilot then a girl can be too and there are many women pilots serving in forces around the world.
